I am sick sick sick of my hair?

blah, really sick of having the same old hairstyle i've always had. just sick of it.

about my hair: despite what my avatar looks like, i actually have long blonde hair, wavy, and can get very frizzy depending on the weather. VERY frizzy. at the same time, the hair on the top of my head gets oily near the end of the day (and no i dont put conditioner on the top of my head.). so basically i'm screwed haha. my hair is all one length, about 6 inches or so past my shoulders.

that being said, i need a new hairstyle. i don't want short hair, please don't tell me about any short styles. and i'm not sure about bangs, b/c....the FRIZZ would make them look ridiculous, especially if it rains or is humid, it would be the 80's all over again! straightening doesnt work if its humid outside....

sorry, i know im a difficult case, what hairstyle should i try??

thanks a bunch in advance :)

I don't think your hairstyle is the problem so much as the texture. If you use anti-frizz products and a good flat iron, you can do a lot of hairstyles. Try Matrix Sleek Look or Redken Smooth Down lines or ask your stylist to recommend some products. Also, invest in a really good flat iron (100% ceramic plates, ionic, goes up to 300 degrees at least).

There is no perfect hairstyle for frizzy/oily hair. No matter how you cut your hair, it will still get frizzy/oily unless you use good products and heat style your hair. That said, you should stay away from overly layered or razored hair, as this will cause too many flyaways and fuzzies. Stick to long layers. It is a good idea to cut at least an inch or two of length to get rid of any damaged or split ends. If you use a very hot flat iron, you can do bangs. Just keep them longish and swept to the side. If you have a problem with humidity, using an iron is the only thing that will hold. The key is to iron hair on a high tem (350 deg or above) to straighten hair to the core, rather than just the outher layer. Just use a thermal protectant in hair before ironing.

As for the oiliness, make sure you scrub your scalp with your fingertips when rinsing shampoo/conditioner out of hair to get out all residue, which makes hair get oilier faster. Better yet, switch between two different brands of shampoo every other time you wash. One brand will wash the residue of the other brand.

You should try some kind of dark red. That way if it gets frizzy it will not be as easy to be seen. Also try using assie products, they are great.

you need to get rid of the one length. it makes an unflattering triangle look. Get VERY long layers. The top should start at about 6 inches.Any shorter and your hair will clump. Most stylist don't understand curly hair and that buy cutting an inch off, it's like cutting off three once it drys. If you wash your hair every day, that's too much unless your sweating(just use shampoo where you have the oily areas, and I would suggest a moisture shampoo that's professional. When your hair is curly, it's kinda hard to use drugstore products. Curly hair is naturally dry because the cutical never fully closes. You need to deep condition once a week and let it dry naturally if you can(with gel...not mousse, because it's not strong enough to hold formed curls). If stylists tell you that you need many inches cut off the bottom because of split ends, tell them that your hair is naturally curly and will ALWAYS have split ends. Your hair is naturally more delicate than straight hair, because they have closed cuticles, not as many tangles etc. You're right that you should never have bangs!Long layers are the only way to go with this type of hair, it makes it more managable...but the key is LONG. Have the knowledge though that this is considered THE sexiest hair in the world(bedroom hair) you just need to learn how to work it.Also never go red, or dark with color.Straight hair has the light bounce off it, creating shine.Curly hair absorbs it so it looks like a ball of dark...yukky...unless you're darker skinned, then it looks exotic.Nver chemically straighten it either. It will straighten it, but not change the texture, so you'll have frizzy stright hair. you will also find a lot on your pillow each morning.

I am a cosmetology student. As far as the frizziness, I would put an anti frizz serum in your hair...It helps control the frizz.

As far as the oil, Have you tried using shampoos that are for oily hair? Cause they can cut down on the oil in the hair tremendously.

Now, as for your new hairstyle, I know you said you didnt want short hair and thats fine. Have you thought about getting layers? As far as the bangs, if you get a long side swept bang they wouldnt be frizzy.

Also, frizz can happen as well when you dont use the right products. When you straighten your hair, do you use a blow dryer or a straightening iron? Cause if you use a blow dryer and brush, if you dont do it the right way, it WILL make it frizzy as well as if you dont use the right product.

I have REALLY frizzy hair and before i blow dry, i put volumizing (cause i also have fine hair) mousse and anti frizz serum in....then I blow dry my hair straight first and then follow it up with a REALLY good straightening iron. After youre done, spray it with a LIGHT mist of hair spray.

Good luck.
